“Long-lost dog returns”
A woman whose dog went missing nine years ago received some good news last week — the dog has been found alive.
Judith Monarrez of Las Vegas fell onto her kitchen floor and wept when the news arrived in an email.
She was 28 and living with her parents in 2015 when Gizmo, then 2 years old, ran out of their backyard.
Monarrez, now 37, is now a teacher and throughout the years, she said she never stopped trying to find Gizmo.
A woman found the now 11-year-old dog and dropped him off at the vet, where they scanned his microchip, triggering the email notification that sent Monarrez to her knees, crying.
Monarrez called it “a miracle.”
“I’m so glad I registered his microchip,” she said.
