“4 men pretend to be a bear for insurance”
Four people have been arrested for dressing up as a bear and attacking cars to claim insurance.
The Los Angeles residents have been charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy, after they rece9ived more than $140,000 from insurance companies.
In January, the four claimed that a bear had entered their 2010 Rolls Royce car and caused interior damage while it was parked in Lake Arrowhead, an area known for its large black bear population.
The suspects provided video footage of the incident to their insurance company.
“After watching the video, the investigation discovered the bear was actually a person in a bear costume,” police said.
Police found two more claims involving the same suspects, from the same date and location, but involving different cars.
Police searched their house and found a bear costume.
