Andrew Biggs

My name is Andrew Biggs. I’m an Australian who has lived and worked in Bangkok, Thailand for the past 36 years. I’m the owner of Andrew Biggs Academy, a language institute under the Royal Thai Government’s Ministry of Education. This is our 20th year in operation. I’m also a well-known foreign face here, having worked in the media for more than three decades. You can learn more about me here.

We are actively seeking teachers of Mathematics, Science and English who are looking for an experience living and working abroad in this wonderful country. Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations on earth — people come here for the amazing cuisine, great beaches, beautiful temples, jungles, mountains, and of course the friendly Thai people. Working here is, also, an incredible experience and certainly an ideal choice if you are looking for an adventure in your career as a teacher.

I have positions open for teaching jobs that begin in April, 2026. You would work at a progressive high school that uses English as its primary language. The school is in inner-city Bangkok, right on the BTS skytrain system, situated next to a major shopping mall with plenty of accommodation nearby. The job comes with impressive facilities including free use of the school gym.

The teaching contract lasts for a year. The salary is very good for the local economy, with a bonus if you complete the entire contract. ABA will take care of your work permit so that you are legally living and working in Thailand for a year. If everything goes well, we can renew the contract for another year. If you are interested, please read the conditions below and send your CV with a cover letter to hello@andrewbiggs.com or simply fill in the form on this page and we will get back to you. Deadline is Friday December 19, 2025. Thanks for your interest!

Job Details

This position is for a native English speaker, meaning anyone holding the nationality of UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa. If you come from any other country, do not apply. You must hold a bachelor’s degree in the field you are teaching and have a minimum of three years’ experience. You must be aged 22-55 years, however if you exceed that and you’re impressive, we may be able to talk the school around. You must have an ESL teaching certificate of a minimum of 120 hours — TEFL, CELTA, TESOL for example. If you don’t have this now, there is still time to get it either online or in person. We can help you with this. You must be willing to work for a minimum of one year in Bangkok, Thailand.
