“Arena makes ‘farting’ sound”
One of London’s famous landmarks appears to make a ‘farting’ sound every time a firework goes off.
The 6,000-seat Olympic Velodrome is an arena built for cycling events in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Now it has been discovered that the venue makes a sound resembling flatulence after fireworks echo through its timber ventilation system.
A spokesperson said: “The structure could be sending sound waves bouncing and dispersing in unexpected ways.
“So when a firework goes off, the building might be reacting with a little sound quirk instead of an echo.”
The news went viral, with many people making fun of the sounds on TikTok.
“The Velodrome has an upset tummy,” wrote one person.
