“Man eats fish, smells like fish”
A man ate 1,000 sardines non stop for 30 days as part of a research experiment.
At the end, he said he smelt like a fish.
Nick Norwitz, a Harvard health researcher from Boston, set out to test whether an extreme sardine-only diet could mimic fasting.
For a month in October, the 30-year-old ate three tins a day — about three to five fish per tin — and tracked weight, ketones, omega-3 levels and workout performance.
Norwitz said he felt unusually “light” and “strong.” He reported “boundless” stamina.
By the final week, he’d lost three kilograms pounds and reached what he called “dolphin-like” omega-3 levels.
The main downside was that he began to smell “like a fish market,” despite showering, brushing his teeth and using cologne.
