“Newsman collects 1,500 socks”
A retired newsreader’s love for colorful footwear earned him the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of socks.
Jim Donovan of CBS Philadelphia said viewers started sending him colorful socks after noticing he liked to wear them in air.
“A lot of people have sent me socks over the years with my face on it — I know, it’s a little crazy,” he told Guinness World Records.
Guinness World Records conchfirmed his collection includes 1,531 unique pairs.
He said it was a dream of his since childhood to break a world record and have it officially recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
