“Man who hates Detroit Lions wins a million bucks with Detroit Lions lottery ticket”
A 68-year-old man in Michigan has changed his mind about the Detroit Lions football team as of last weekend.
The man said he always bought a lottery scratch-off ticket from his local gas station, asking the cashier for any ticket except the “Detroit Lions” themed ones, because it’s never been lucky for him.
Last week he forgot to say it, and when he got home he realized the cashier had given him the Detroit Lions game ticket.
Angry with himself, he scratched off the ticket — and discovered he had won the jackpot of one million dollars!
“I stopped my wife as she was walking by, handed her the ticket, and said: ‘You’re not going to believe this!’” he said.
“She started crying.”
The man says he no longer thinks the Detroit Lions are unlucky.
