“7 struck by lightning”
At least seven people were struck by lightning on Orchard Beach in the Bronx on Thursday.
The incident was reported at Orchard Beach just before 5:30 p.m.
A 15-year-old and 13-year-old were seriously hurt. The 13-year-old boy was in a critical condition in hospital.
Beachgoers ran for their lives when a vicious storm hit.
All victims were struck by lightning while sitting on the sand.
All of the victims were taken to Jacobi Medical Center. The other victims are said to be stable.
