“Father names son ‘ABCDEF’“
A father in Indonesia has named his child after the English alphabet — because he wants him to become a writer.
The 12-year-old boy’s name is ABCDEF, with a middle name GHIJK, and his family name ZUZU.
Health officials thought they were the target of a practical joke when the boy showed his ID at a Covid-19 vaccination clinic.
After calling his parents, however, they discovered the truth.
The dad, Zulfahmi Zuzu, said that he gave the boy the name because he had always dreamed of being a writer, and added that the child normally goes by the shortened name of ‘Adef’.
The father said he also wanted to give a unique name to his two other boys, and had prepared the name NOPQ RSTUV for the second child, and XYZ for the third.
He instead chose the more standard names of Ammar and Attur.
