“New world record for Christmas lights“
A New York family has just finished decorating the outside of their home for Christmas with a record 687,000 lights.
It’s the third time the family has broken the world record for most lights in a home Christmas decoration.
The family of Tim Gay, of Lagrangeville, first set the record for most lights on a residential property with 346,283 Christmas lights in 2012.
They broke that record in their 2014 display with a little over 600,000 lights.
This year they’ve done it again.
The family’s annual light display serves as a fundraiser for local charities. Tim said he is hoping to collect $500,000 with this year’s show.
