“Cops fired for playing Pokemon Go“
Two American police officers were fired for ignoring a robbery because they were too busy playing Pokemon Go.
The men, Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell, lost their appeal against “multiple counts of misconduct.”
A video camera in their police car photographed them ignoring a commanding officer’s response to a robbery and playing Pokemon Go instead.
The incident occurred on a busy Saturday when a call came in about a robbery at Macy’s department store in Los Angeles.
Instead of responding to the call Lozano and Mitchell – who were parked just a few metres away from Macy’s – started to back up down the alley away from the robbery.

They were looking for characters in Pokemon Go.
The officers claimed they could not hear the radio, but video footage showed they heard the radio call but ignored it.
