“Graduating at 82!”
An 82-year-old Maryland woman achieved a longtime dream by walking across the stage to accept her bachelor’s degree.
Mae Beale, 82, a retired nurse, returned to school in her late 70s to study a degree in business management from the University of Maryland.
She said she did it to help grow her event planning business.
“I discovered that I had to be intentional about it and make it my priority,” she said.
Beale, who celebrated her 82nd birthday on Tuesday, walked across the stage Wednesday to accept her diploma.
She said it was one of the happiest and proudest days of her life.
