“Man accidentally orders 60 specs”
All he wanted was a pair of reading glasses. He ended up with 60.
Tom Arnold meant to buy 10 but misread the quantity when he ordered online, and soon found himself surrounded by dozens of cardboard boxes on his sofa.
The 61-year-old was with his son, radio deejay Chris Arnold, who posted a picture of his embarrassed dad on Twitter.
He tweeted: ‘My dad has accidentally bought 60 pairs of reading glasses off the internet after misreading the quantity of his order.’
‘I meant to buy 10,’ Tom Arnold said. ‘I often lose my reading glasses so I buy a few and just leave them around the house.
‘I thought I’d bought 10 but I accidentally clicked on 12 sets so I ended up with 60.’
Asked whether Tom was wearing his glasses at the time, he replied: ‘I thought I did but maybe I didn’t.’
Tom says he plans to keep ten of them and will try to return the rest.
