“Philippines TV ad is not the Philippines”
A tourism agency has apologised after a video advertising the Philippines as a holiday destination showed footage from other countries.
On Sunday, the DDB Philippines agency said it “profusely” apologised to the country’s Department of Tourism, as well as the people of the Philippines.
The company used footage from other countries to launch a campaign called Love The Philippines.
The video featured aerial footage of sand dunes in Brazil and a desert in the United Arab Emirates.
The agency said the footage was “highly inappropriate”.
The DOT released a statement on Monday saying it was angry about the ad, and that it could terminate the contract with the ad agency.
