“She goes bananas over bananas”
A Swedish government ministry says it has banned bananas from all its offices.
That’s because the new Minister is allergic to bananas.
Gender Equality Minister Paulina Brandberg’s staff have to make sure nobody brings bananas into the ministry.
In an email, one staff said the minister who was visiting Norway “has a strong allergy to bananas, so it would be appreciated that there are no bananas in the areas where she will be staying”.
Brandberg said it was an issue she was “getting professional help with”.
She once posted that she had the “world’s weirdest phobia of bananas”.
Bananaphobia can cause serious symptoms like anxiety and nausea and can be triggered by seeing or smelling the fruit.
