“Thief steals 2,500 pies”
A British chef reached out to the person who stole his delivery van to at least return the 2,500 pies inside the van.
Tommy Banks, who owns two restaurants and a pub, said a staff member discovered the van was missing, along with its cargo of pies intended for Christmas.
The food was valued at 25,000 pounds, around one million baht.
Banks said the van was insured, but he implored the vehicle thieves not to let the food go to waste.
But police found the van, badly damaged and with stolen license plates, about 50 km from where it was taken.
The pies were still inside but were damaged and would have to be discarded.
“It’s just so much waste,” Banks said in a video on Instagram. “Sorry, it’s not a happier ending to this story.”
