“Can you pronounce ‘espresso’?”
A language-learning platform has released a list of the most mispronounced words in the English language in 2024 — and topping the list is a cup of coffee.
Babbel says the number one most mispronounced word is “Espresso”, a hit song by Sabrina Carpenter and also the name of a popular beverage.
Coffee addicts know how to pronounce the word are probably rolling their eyes. But for many people, they say it wrongly.
It’s “espresso” … not “expresso” as many say.
Another popular mispronounced word is the last name of actor Barry Kheogan, who was Sabrina Carpenter’s boyfriend for most of 2024.
