“That’s a long name!”
Meet Laurence Watkins from New Zealand.
That’s not his full name, though. He’s got more more than 2,000 middle names.
Laurence said he decided to extend his birth name to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
He decided to go for the person with the longest name.
Laurence took recommendations from friends, family and coworkers over what new names to add.
The list also includes words like ‘love’ and ‘math’, names of fictional characters like ‘Sherlock’, ancient gods like ‘Dionysus’, and foods like ‘tofu’.
In the end, he racked up 2,253 unique words in total.
At first government officials wouldn’t accept his long name, so he took it to New Zealand’s High Court.
The court allowed him to keep his extremely lengthy name.
