“67 is the word of the year”
Dictionary.com has announced its word of the year for 2025, and it’s a word with no meaning.
The word is actually two numbers … 67 … and if you haven’t heard it, you’re not very up with the times.
67 is a slang term that has been delighting young people, exasperating teachers and confusing adults for months.
It has its roots in a rap song released last December by Skrilla, but even Skrilla admits that 67 really doesn’t have any meaning.
Dictionary.com says: “Perhaps the most defining feature of 67 is that it’s impossible to define. It is meaningless, ubiquitous, and nonsensical.”
Still, as Dictionary.com says, the term’s meaning lies in the connection it creates.
It’s basically one big inside joke, at least for young people.
