“City allows traffic fines to be paid with food donations”
A court in Oklahoma is allowing people with traffic violations to donate food in exchange for paying a fine.
Through the rest of November and all of December, people with traffic fines in Chickasha may donate food to have their traffic fines reduced.
“Citizens will be able to give back through our Food for Fines program,” city officials said.
The program allows an individual with a ticket to turn in non-perishable food items and receive a $10 reduction in their fine per item, up to $100.
All food donations will be donated to the Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry, city officials said.
