“Pickleball duo break record”
A pair of Michigan athletes officially broke the Guinness World Record for the longest time playing pickleball.
Brad Haverkamp and Caleb Dang played for 28 consecutive hours, and were only allowed a 5-minute break each hour.
Dang said the game was gruelling, and there were times he felt as though his brain had shut down.
“I think at a certain point, your brain just shuts off and you’re on autopilot,” he said. “I can’t really remember the middle 20 hours.”
The duo learned this month that evidence from their attempt had been accepted by Guinness World Records and they now officially hold the title for the longest marathon playing pickleball (singles).
