“Thai birth rate drops”
Thailand’s population fell to 65.8 million in 2025, and now has one of the lowest birth rates in the world.
Official data released last Wednesday revealed that of all these people.
nearly 65 million are Thai nationals, while 988,620 are non-Thai residents.
Thailand’s birth rate is now the lowest in 75 years. Thailand recorded only 416,514 births last year, while deaths reached 559,684.
Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia with a declining birth rate. It’s a different story in South Korea.
South Korea’s fertility rate rose for the first time in almost a decade. The government has spent billions of dollars for more than a decade encouraging people to have more babies.
