“12 tons of KitKats go missing”
Thieves in Italy stole 12 tons of KitKat chocolates — and the company is asking KitKat lovers to help track down the thieves.
Nestle announced the theft in a March 28 statement.
The company said more than 410,000 bars vanished after leaving a factory in central Italy en route to Poland.
A company spokesperson said that while the company does “appreciate the criminals’ exceptional taste,” the theft highlights a growing issue affecting businesses of all sizes.
Nestle launched a tool for customers to check if their KitKat bars are linked to the theft on their website.
“We really want to know where they’ve gone,” the company said .
