An analysis of Google search data from the first five months of the year revealed the most misspelled words in America are “favorite,” “through” and “niece.”
Many states in the USA had different top misspelled words. Examples include “school” for Florida, “color” for Colorado, “restaurant” for Louisiana, and “spaghetti” for North Carolina.
One expert said that the more we rely on autocorrect and AI, the worse our spelling becomes.
He said people should actively search for the correct spelling of words when they are not sure.
“As the saying goes, use it or lose it,” he said.
